Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Opening Night party for [title of show]. I'm a big fan, and getting to attend was quite the privilege. I was there with BFF (of BriTunes notoriety) and if I was star-struck, then he was... well, I don't even know a word for what he was. Let's just say that it's not entirely figurative to say that his head was spinning.

Of the many celebs (I use the term loosely) he was most astounded to see Cheyenne Jackson, of "Xanadu" fame.

Cheyenne is mega-hot. Like, gorgeous and brilliantly talented -- far more than just a pretty face. He was in attendence with his boyfriend, Monty, who I guess he has been with for a really long time.

So my dear friend BriTunes posted something about how he saw Cheyenne there with his "surprisingly ugly boyfriend" aka Monty. And I guess that it sent the theater world into an uproar!

He was accosted with IM's on facebook, and many a mean comment on his blog saying "how dare he!" and that he was such an awful person for saying that.

Really? REALLY?!

Look. I saw Monty, and the man is nowhere near unattractive. He's tall and handsome, and apparently a scientist, which significantly ups the hawt factor. We all know that Monty isn't ugly.

It's like this:

I love Brad Pitt. And if I were ever to get to meet him and Angelina, it's not far fetched for me to refer to her as a "skanky ho". Angelina Jolie is not a skanky ho. She is an unbelievably attractive, smart, and good-hearted person. Hell, she's pretty much the new Mother Teresa.

But she's banging Brad Pitt.

That makes me jealous.

And, getting lost in my longing for her mate, I might refer to her as a "skanky ho" -- something she is most clearly not.

Kind of like how BFF referred to Monty as "surprisingly ugly"... It's sheer jealousy, longing for something unatainable. Something already taken.

So, people -- Get over it.

He's not a mean person. He's a boy with a blog who has a crush.

Is that really really that threatening?

When I'm Wrong...

When I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong. Whole-heartedly I am not ashamed to admit when my judgement is not, perhaps, 100% correct.

Last night, I told my buddy Steve (or maybe it was Scott... I was a few beers in) that I thought that it was gross that he was attracted to Colin Firth. I believe my exact words were "Speaking of something NOT getting better with age"...

In making my point, I cited his role in "Pride & Prejudice" (which, btw, is like the Best. Movie. Ever.) as his peak, and that since then he has been slowly diminishing into a relic of what once was. I give you Exhibit A:

Then I saw photos from the NY Premiere of "Mamma Mia!" and am now, humbly and whole-heatedly, admitting that I was wrong.

Oh so very, very wrong.

Alright ya'll -- It's TIME!

I've been waiting and waiting... and it's finally here...

ITALY - HERE I COME!!!

I'm out on vacation from now until July 13th so it's going to be a while until I can log on again. I hope you all have fantastic PRIDE weekends, July 4ths, and many a hot day at the beach!

I'll try not to be jealous. Though I am pretty sure I can count on the amazing countryside, gorgeous men, and endless vats of wine to keep me distracted ;)

Secrets, Secrets Are No Fun

I have a secret.

And it's a good one!

But I've been sworn to silence. Except I already told my best friend, but it shouldn't count because I got permission from the person I'm keeping the secret for to tell him.

I can't wait to tell you. It's killing me not to say anything!

Proud Mama

My friend Jarrett has one of the coolest jobs. He's an Entertainment reporter for New York Post Online so he goes to all these great events, like the first ever Bravo A-List Awards!

So he goes and stands on the red carpet and interviews the likes of Rachel Dratch, Margaret Cho, Christian Siriano, Dana Delaney, Niki Taylor, and so on and so on and so on -- ya, we're jealous of him.

ANYWAY... At the A-List Award he got Mario Lopez's (apparently) ex-girlfriend to confirm that they've actually split. Now, I can't pretend to care about Lopez, or that girl from Dancing with the Stars that he's been dating, but there are apparently LOTS of people that do care. So much so in fact that freakin' AOL picked up his entire video from the red carpet for their homepage!

I'm so proud of my boy! So I just wanted to share with you all -- watch the video! (PS Rachel Dratch is my favorite...)

I See London

Hllo, my lovelies! It's been too long...

It's been a GREAT couple of weeks. Memorial Day Weekend, Bri and I hopped the bus down to DC to visit Doug. We had an absolutely fabulous time!

HIGHLIGHTS:

1) Special-Ed Karaoke. There was some serious tragedy happening up in there ya'll.

2) A French Brunch. We walked around for hours before finally settling on an adorable French cafe, where one in our party asked if a crepe was just "all that shit folded in a pancake"... Why yes, that's exactly what a crepe is. Gruyere, honey ham, rosemary potatos, and the best Grapefruit I have ever encountered! Way better than McD's...

3) Mean Mommies at the Zoo - While looking at the Komodo Dragon, I overheard one little boy ask his mom if it ate people. Her response: "You've been such a bad listener today, I should just let them feed you to it...."

4) Crazies at the Zoo - After asking a woman to take our picture, a little girl decided to jump in with us. She had the biggest cheesiest grin EVER -- Bri, you need to send me that pic! lol

5) Q trying to de-Hulk my friend - Dearest Quentin, not everyone likes to talk about their feelings. But the rest of us will never cease to be amused nor amazed by your efforts to calm the beast! Muah!

All in all, best quick cheap getaway I've had in a long time. I love my boys!

So fastforward. It's back to work. Back to the grinding gears that make our lives go.

Last weekend I was able to spend some time with a few old friends from UT who have recently moved here. The first, Jeffy, is brilliant. I adore him. Truth is we haven't really been friends all that long, but it feels like we've been friends forever. Secondly, is Josh. Josh and I weren't really friends before. I mean, we were, but solely by association. We'd hang with the same people, go to the same parties, blah blah blah. But I don't think that in all the time that I've known him we'd ever had a conversation.

Here's the thing -- he was always "that guy" that everyone thought was so smart and so great and so hot and so (I could keep going, but I'll let you fill in the rest yourself -- you know these types!) so I was always just a little bit... indifferent when it came to him. After hanging out with him all weekend, it's a hugely different story. He is so not that guy that I thought he was! He's fiercely opinionated, doesn't shy away from the heated debates, and has a Crazy Flag that he wears like a t-shirt. Totally accessible and SUCH a great guy -- I'm excited to have him around for the summer!

There's an inanimate performance art piece in Brooklyn that you all should check out should you get the opportunity. Two weeks ago, in the early morning, a giant drill started coming up through the dock underneath the Brooklyn Bridge. Two days later, a giant telescope appeared.

I know -- what the hell?

So it's this giant art installation that you stand in front of, and you can see all these people standing in London!

The backstory is that this artists great grandfather began designing a giant telescope that would be built under the Atlantic to be able to communicate with New York (he was British). This artist found his great grandfathers diaries, and made it his life's goal to complete the work that was started generations ago.

Ok so we all know that there's no way there's a giant tube running the span of the ocean. But it's really cool, and the child in me really loves the fantasy that they've provided.

I believe it runs through June 15, so check it out.
